System

D+H UK provided a mechanical smoke ventilation system for the Grade II listed former Linotype factory.

At ground floor level, natural ventilation is provided with three certified windows along the corridors either side of the stairwell. Two exterior doors will also be released when the smoke detection is activated.

At first floor level, a mechanical smoke control system is provided by smoke extract fans, with inlet air being provided via the head of stairwell smoke ventilator.

A separate corridor mechanical system is present from the first floor to attic level. It is provided by smoke extract fans, with inlet air being provided via the head of stairwell smoke ventilator.

D+H UK service and maintain this system, ensuring its continued reliability.
