Three innovations, one theme - D+H is all the rage
BAU 2017, one of the world's leading trade fairs, attracted over 2,000 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors to Munich this year. Spread over 17 halls, everything revolved around the main themes of the exhibition: "Intelligent façades", "Digital design, construction and management", "Smart buildings" and "Living and building 2020". The fair made one thing perfectly clear: Digitalisation is currently dominating the construction industry. And this is exactly the trend that we are pushing forward. We presented our three innovations at BAU to our trade audience.
One of these presentations gave visitors to our booth an introduction to what is likely the quietest way to automatically open windows. Our new chain drive: the CDC-0252. After the extremely successful market launch last year, the silent star received lots of attention. The CDC works best in combination with our two digital control panels for smoke extraction and natural ventilation. The integration of our new Advanced Communication Bus (ACB) creates bidirectional communication between the control panel and the drive. This means that the control panel also receives information about the position and status of the windows. The technology also enables drive control with perfect positioning.
Digital, modular, and almost cable free
Visitors made their own impression of our fully modular digital SHEV control panel on our booth. They were able to configure the module's ACB-capable smoke vent control panel themselves, place the components on a top-hat rail using a plug and play system and control the CDC-0252 accordingly. In this way, our guests got to know the intelligent and low-wire plug system on rails with all functionality. The advantage of the modular design is that it ensures significantly less wiring and a better power supply.
The control panel provides an output current in 20 A increments up to a nearly unlimited maximum current. Due to its digital connection, integrating it into building automation infrastructure is an incredibly straightforward process. For example, it functions alongside heating, ventilation, burglar or fire alarm systems, making it an excellent addition to the trade fair's key themes.
Ventilation made easy
Another highlight of the exhibition was our CNV-S bus-based ventilation system. At our booth, visitors had the chance to see the interaction of the five components of the decentralised system for themselves: the ventilation controller, motor controller, power supply unit, the u::Lux button and weather station.
The weather station determines wind direction and strength and features a rain and brightness sensor as well as a sunlight intensity sensor. In addition, it boasts a GPS receiver that records the time, date and position of the sun. There are u::Lux buttons located within the rooms that are connected to the system via Ethernet. These provide information on indoor temperature, room air humidity and carbon dioxide content.
In the future, users will be able to configure desired ventilation parameters via SCS software from D+H and create their own customised indoor climate concept.
The right atmosphere
As the market leader for smoke and heat exhaust ventilation and natural ventilation, D+H used a new trade fair booth concept to present at BAU 2017.
The plus-shaped 4.50 x 5.00 m LED video wall formed the visual magnet at the centre of the trade fair booth. Striking moving images communicated the solutions of D+H with emotion, making our new slogan "Building Atmosphere" distinctive and memorable.
For about 50 years, people have associated the D+H brand with a positive sense of quality, responsibility, expertise and innovation.
The new BAU 2017 trade fair booth concept spotlights the emotional power of the D+H brand visually.
And when it comes to ventilation, D+H generates an atmosphere of well-being that provides space for health and productivity. Our smoke vent lets us provide an atmosphere of protection and safety. As an employer, D+H is proud of its family-friendly atmosphere. And its inspirational atmosphere at BAU 2017.
